It's a cotton/acrylic blend from Coats and Clarks -- knits easy and holds up great. Melanie Falick's "Kids Knitting" is an excellent starter.....for both you and your daughter.<BR/><BR/>Another great "read" is the classic "Knitting Without Tears" by Elizabeth Zimmermann.
